Dr. Patrick Mornane – Veterinarian
Care Animal Regional Emergency Clinic of Spartanburg
Dr. Mornane has been an active Veterinarian for over 40 years graduating from the University of Melbourne Australia in 1967. After doing mixed practice and equine work he departed to Darwin in 1972 and established a large multi-doctor practice (Parap Veterinary Hospital) which serviced the Top End of the Northern Territory.
When he began, his nearest private practice was 1,000 miles to the South in Alice Springs and 1,000 miles to the South East in Mt. Isa. With referral institutions being over 2,500 miles away, a natural self reliance developed and he gained expertise in a wide variety of surgical medical procedures.
In 1992, he sold the practice, completed a post graduate course at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan, and was then was selected as the Charlie Bild VIP at the University of Florida. Dr. Mornane stayed at the University of Florida for 6 months before taking over a practice in Miami. He created 2 satellite practices, one in Miami Beach and one in Pinecrest.
He developed an interest in advanced canine reproductive techniques including Cryopreservation of canine semen. Early in 2010, he sold the last of his practices and moved to Upstate South Carolina where he continues to remain active in private practice.
